The VIPS men’s book group meets at a great deli, Shapiro’s, once a month. I am supposed to act the part of Jane, ensuring that Richard eats healthily. Richard, of course, always listens to me, because he is soooo dutiful. He winks and I look the other way.

Rich enlivens our group. If the conversation of sports, politics and the book of the month, slows, Richard will regale us with jokes, honest thoughts, multiple stories and great wit. He is one in a million, and we Americans are glad that Canada has loaned him to us. One of the best investments we could have.

Hmmmm, I thought “VIP” was an acronym commonly used by male exotic dance troupes. Is there something you guys need to tell us? đŸ˜‰

The first book we ever read in the Men’s Book Group, was Forever. The clues are locked within its pages.
