2 Great Days in London

July 2, 2009
by

Hello family and friends!!!

We have arrived safely in London and have spent the past two days sightseeing around town. We spent our first day around Buckingham Palace viewing the changing of the guard and stopped by Big Ben and 10 Downing. At night, we went to see the puppet musical ‘Avenue Q’. Chris’s highlight was the song ‘The Internet is for Porn’ (surprise surprise) and I think is preparing a rendition for the Lafave family reunion!

Today we visited the British museum, the Winston Churchill museum and war bunkers and Westminister Abby. We got the opportunity to sit in on a Parliament session and I think dad made security pretty nervous the whole way to the door. He kept telling the people who worked there that he was so nervous to give his first speech to Parliament. He was going to title it ‘What it means to be Canadian.’

Happy belated Canada day to everyone up north. There was a huge celebration here yesterday for it, full of Montreal smoked meat.

Cheers!

Am very jealous of you guys. If you get the chance take a boat tour on the thames – it is a great way to see the city as is the London Eye.
Looking forward to the next instalment of the Griswold family vacation.

    Typical Rich! (Typical Chris!)

Vince and I are enjoying the Jazz Festival here in Montreal. We went to see Jamie Cullum in concert on Wednesday night and it was phenomenal!

Lafaves, enjoy your trip, keep us posted on everything, and we can’t wait to see you again in la belle Province…

    xoxo

Sure hope someone records both Chris and Bill’s performances. I have a feeling it will top your performance at my wedding Chris. Glad to hear you are all enjoying London – the cabinet war rooms are quite interesting. We are having a lovely time in Stockholm too – weather has been quite warm and it is great to have nieces to translate for us, especially when it is ice cream time! We look forward to more news from the FFO. Have fun.

I saw on facebook that you guys were at Wimbledon yesterday. Too cool!!! Did Rich try to pass himself off as Roddick’s trainer?

We’re heading out into the archipelago today with Clare and Paul and our visitors from France. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Looking forward to the Parisian installment of the FFO Chronicles.

    Lots of love,
    Laurie
