Ciao from Ferrara

Hi all,

We left Florence early yesterday and spent the day in Modena with Larry and Sean visiting their relatives in Modena.  Never have I seen such a feast – we were served course after course of delicious pasta, meat, salad and dessert!  We also were able to visit a family operation that makes balsamic vinegar so we now have the inside scoop on the good stuff.  Too bad it’s so far to come here and buy it!

Last night and today was spent in Ferrara visiting Dario and some other rugby friends of Larry’s.  This is a beautiful city as well – filled with history and good food.  Tomorrow it’s off to Venice for the culmination of our trip.

Richard as warned Chris that he needs to row the gondola in Venice so Mike can waterski behind it so we’ll see if that one comes to pass.

All in all we have had a great time – Sean and Larry who joined us for the Italy segment have been wonderful travel companions and Larry’s knowledge of Italian has been most helpful.

Warm wishes to all our friends and family  – we look forward to seeing you soon!

Jane
