Arnprior Visit

A Lafave-ism that I just had to share……

Up with the birds to catch an early morning flight, Jane, Richard and Chris arrived at their stopover in Toronto last week only to discover that the connecting flight to Ottawa had been cancelled due to inclement weather.

Endless hours of sitting on the tarmac and being shuttled from gate to gate ensued.

So when Jane, Richard and Christopher heard after twelve hours that they would indeed get airborne providing Air Canada could dig up a pilot, some ground crew and gate personnel, they could hardly believe their ears.

By this point, most of the folks waiting on the Ottawa flight were familiar faces who weren’t in the best of moods.

Leave it to Richard to brighten things up by answering the incessantly ringing phones at the abandoned desk with the quip ”I told you not to call me here”.

Thanks for persevering and making it to the family get-together in Arnprior—even though your bags didn’t. Rumour has it that Chris has returned to the states in the same clothes.

It was wonderful to see you again  and I’ll post more pictures of the cornhole tournament as soon as I can.

By the way, my travels back to Sweden weren’t much better. We had to spend an extra night in both Toronto and London due to storms. 40 hours later we’re home!

Lots of love,
Laurie

    Laurie,

Sorry to hear about your travel troubles – believe me I sympathize! It had me choked up reading on Facebook about Hannie and Em and how they were in tears so much on the way back. Hope we get to see you in a few weeks!

    Love to all,

    Jane
