The Gift of Five

January 31, 2010
by

We had a special gift this weekend that I have probably taken for granted all too many times in my life and that is the gift of the five of us.  The rain held off and we were able to take advantage of a nice boat ride through mangrove trees at the Nature Conservancy as well as some leisurely walks on the beach.

All in all, a great weekend.  Sending warm wishes from the south to friends and family everywhere!

Wonderful photos, Jane, and your blog continues to be inspirational. We Moms often forget just how wonderful it is to spend time with our whole family at once. Florida has so many beautiful nature preserves, and we’re so glad you got to enjoy the mangroves as a family. Your kids so clearly share your and Richard’s DNA and it’s so neat to see younger versions of the two of you. We had the opportunity to see quite a bit of northern Florida when Barbara was at UF. I think my favorite was the ever-cheesy but very interesting Gatorland. Watch your fingers when you’re out on those boats! So good to see you all enjoying yourselves. Love and blessings, Toni and Garry

    P. S. I wanted you to know that Richard is being prayed for by the members of my weekly prayer group. Lots of middle aged Catholic women nagging God on your behalf! 🙂 T.

Many thanks for sharing all these moments with us. Pelicans, mangrove trees and beaches are about as far-removed from Stockholm in February as you can get! And today being sunny and Groundhog’s Day means six more weeks of snow?

    Love to all,
    Laurie and the Sods

    Rich,

I have not sent you a message in awhile but I have been following your exploits via this web site. Sounds like you and Jane had fun in the “not so warm but warmer than Indy” south! I am going to snowy Denver this weekend to see for the 1st time my 7th grandkid. Can you believe it? I now have a male hockey team and a female coach! By the way, too bad about the Canadian hockey team (USA….USA….USA).

Thats all for now. You are in our prayers.

    Pete
