Pelicans, Birthdays and all…..

February 16, 2010

Greetings from Florida!

Another week has come and gone and our update on Richard is that he is feeling more and more fatigued and we have decided it is best to head back to Indy while we can so we plan to return on Wednesday.

Thought you’d enjoy a few of Richard’s Pelican pictures.  I insisted he take a picture of the sign on the dock that said “Private Property” before he marched onto it to take better pictures of a pelican perched at the end of the dock.  If you follow the sequence you’ll see that it culminates with the pelican taking flight.  We’ve enjoyed observing these birds, especially when they gobble their food.

We have had very enjoyable visits with Roger and Bonnie as well as Joan and our son Mike joined us for the weekend so that was a treat too.

Our nephew Phil turned 39 today and he’s already making waves about returning to Indy for the 500 so he and Leslie can see if they truly are unbeatable at cornhole!  Other birthdays of note – my Dad just turned 87 (and would never tell us his age when we were kids) and brother in law Bill Walsh will turn 70 on Sunday.  Just think Bill – in 20 years, you’ll be ninety!

So enjoy the pics.  See if you can figure out who’s the rule breaker and who’s the rule follower with Richard and me….(hint – I didn’t go on the prohibited dock to photograph the pelican!)

So, here’s one of the things that I love about Jane: that she always follows the rules!

I guess American birds can’t read.

    Love to all,

Hmmm, it seems that most of the Coady girls are rule followers, and yet they married rule breakers. Paul’s explanation is that the Coady girls are just good at getting their men to do the dirty work for them. Obviously Rich, as the outlaw with the most seniority, needs to educate Paul further on the sterling qualities of a Coady wife. After 30 years, he knows better than anyone.

I think the pelican pictures were worth the transgression. Love to all.

As Leslie once told me ” if you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up too much room.”
    Love it up

Hopefully the gobbling birds didn’t remind you of any particular relatives 🙂

Thanks for the great pics. Leave it to Rich to push the envelope….and to the Coady side to report it!!
